“The Vow”

Early this year I wrote a post, admittedly in frustration over an unpleasant interaction with a Yeeshkul! moderator. Pavel mentioned this post in his comments–though he was quite negative about it. The post was entitled “An Oath To Share The Music Freely”. It is still on the blog: https://gullveig.org/2021/01/15/an-oath-to-share-the-music-freely/.

Despite the frustration behind the post, it is still a fairly good statement of why I share music on my websites.

Passion for music is why I am still here and doing what I do…

  1. First let me say that I (and I’m sure many others) are absolutely GRATEFUL to you for all the sharing you’ve done at Zoso.me (where I first enjoyed your efforts) and then later at Gullveig (I didn’t go to PurpleHippies much because I wasn’t much of a Deep Purple, etc. fan, but that’s just my tastes). I also appreciate the Filefactory pack that you purchase for fast downloads.
I read your “Oath” post and really don’t understand why some people at Y! are upset. A little acknowledgement is not to much to ask, really.
I too started trading tapes by B & P back in the late 80’s-early 90’s with a Zeppelin trader named Terry Stephenson. It wasn’t easy back in those pre-internet days and was very time consuming copying analog.
I hope you reconsider your Floyd pause, after all, there are always going to be ungrateful schnooks out there but just keep in mind that they are vastly outnumbered by those who are indeed grateful.
As always keep up the good work.

  2. I join Newman. As far as I know, you don’t own your shows from Y. None of these guys from Y have any copyrights. Take it easy and do what you like to do (including Floyd). Thank you for all.
